Here We Go: Just Made My First Hire

Well, it's taken a while.

I went through a round of interviews a month or two back, and even got to the point where I was willing to offer a position to one person and just asked him to send some references I could contact. Even with a reminder, he never did, so I'm glad that got sorted out quickly.

I've been keeping my eye on new folks that fit my criteria as they pop into the best jobs site, and managed to find somebody that had all the skills I need right away and many IM skills that I'd eventually want them to acquire anyway. It took a while to hear back from the reference she gave me as he was travelling at the time, but even with that delay she was still available.

So...time to actually sit down and get things done. If I'm paying somebody, then I'm sure going to make sure that I'm giving her enough work to keep her from getting bored!

It's great to know that she's kept you posted even if she's been traveling! Is she a Filipino as well?
